Badges go on your vest and it represents an activity that you did or an event that you did and an award is something that a Girl scout does and earns an award for it I will explain that more soon I am going to talk about badges. All Girl Scouts can earn badges certain levels can earn badges that other levels can't. Some people call badges patches and it just depends on what you want to call them there is no right or wrong name. The picture that you see is of a Girl Scout vest with badges on them.
I am going to list some of the badges that each girl Scout level can earn:

Everyone can earn badges and awards however there are a few awards that only a certain level can earn. When you are a Girl Scout Junior you can earn your bronze award. When I earned my bronze award in Girl Scouts I did earned it twice with two different troops (I switched troops in my junior year). With my first troop we recycled things one thing we really focused on was recycling batteries. We put bins in each school in my town and we had people donate batteries. We also put bins in our town library, the senior center and day care centers. We had a contest to see who could come up with the most batteries I came into third place. How I got my Bronze award with my troop that I am now is we collected dog and cat food and blankets that they could lay on and we donated toys that dogs and cats play with. We made flyers and drove around out neighborhoods and put the flyer in people's mail boxes. We got a lot of donations and we gave them to local animal shelters. Earning these awards are optional and you don't have to have them to bridge up to the next level.
When you are a Girl Scout Cadette you can earn your silver award. I am in the processes of earning my silver award and my idea is to create art kits for kids that are in the hospital. I had interest in doing this topic because kids that are in the hospital may be feeling sad and they may feel bad about their self and this gives them something to be happy about. I am hoping that this will make the kids happy and give them something to do and hopefully they will feel good about their selves. When you are a Girl Scout Ambassador or a Girl Scout Senior (doesn't matter if you are an Ambassador or a Senior) you can earn your Gold award, it is the highest award a Girl scout can earn.
A lot of people ask do you earn the award with your troop or do you do it by yourself? When your troop decides to earn the Bronze award you MUST work on it together. When your troop decides to earn the Silver award you have the choice to work on it together or individually. You can work in partners for your silver award or individually or as a troop. Like I said earlier I am working on my silver award and I am working on it with a partner and that is what most girls on doing and some our doing it individually. We didn't want to do it all together because we are a really big troop. The First video is of a Junior Girl Scout troop telling you what they did for their bronze award. The second video is of a Girl Scout troop telling you what they did for their Silver award. The last video is of a Girl scout giving you tips on the Gold award.
